Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal to win the Australian Open. It was Djokovic’s seventh Australian Open title and it moved him past Pete Sampras for third all-time in Grand Slam victories.
On the women’s side, Naomi Osaka defeated Petra Kvitova and becomes the first Asian player to be ranked number-one.
