Roger Federer defeated Jeremy Chardy of France in the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open.
Federer will next face Chung Hyeon in a rematch of their Australian Open semifinal. On the women’s side, Simona Halep outlasted Petra Martic of Croatia to advance to the semifinals.
