
Curtis H. Riley (91) of Altamont

Curtis H. Riley, 91, of Altamont died at 6:24 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at a later. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice or to the family.
Curtis was born on Monday, March 17, 1930 in rural St. Elmo, IL to Curtis W. and Kathryn M. (Logue) Riley. He married Shelby Dial on December 11, 1954. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a salesman for the Bradford Supply Company, St. Elmo for 29 years and had moved several times with the company. He was a member of the Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger V.F.W. Post #7676, Altamont.
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Shelby Riley of Altamont; sons, Rick Riley of Princeton, IN and Curtis W. (Tina) Riley of Princeton, IN; daughters, Debbie Tipton of Newburgh, IN and Kelly (Stanley) Dunlap of Fairview Heights, IL; brother, Dennis Riley of St. Elmo; sister, Mary Jane Gottman of St. Elmo; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Riley, sisters, Priscilla Scoles, June Rhodes and Peggy Logue and half-sisters, Nita Jennings, Pauline Hughes and Elaine Worthington.
