Mary K. Wiedman, 93, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carle Auxiliary Guest House and Sacred Heart Church. Mary was born on May 30, 1927, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Leo and Gertrude (Kemme) Lustig. She married Robert L. Wiedman on December 29, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1972.
Mary was the owner of Wiedman Dry Cleaners and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was an avid card player and enjoyed baking, reading, crocheting, and spending time outdoors. Mary was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children, Hal (Penny) Wiedman and Kent (Cyndi) Wiedman both of Effingham, Roberta (Dave) Martin of Sumter, SC, Mary Beth Wiedman, Todd Wiedman, and Robin Collins all of Effingham; grandchildren, Kathy (Enoch) Chrisman, Robert (Danielle) Chrisman, Mandy (Larry) McDevitt, Jeff (Mary) Wiedman, Adam (Ashley) Wiedman, Kelly (William) Troby, Rev. Nicole (Steve) Cox, Scott (Karly) Wiedman, Nathan (Talitha) Wiedman, Brent (Alicia) Wiedman, Crystal (John) Clark, Clint (Mandy) Martin, Alex (Lauren) Collins, and Hillary Collins; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Carol (Wiedman) Miller; son-in-law, Doug Collins; and sister, Lucille (Art) Thoele.
