John Robert "Bob" Kinney (78) of Fairfield

John Robert “Bob” Kinney,78 of Fairfield died on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 5:45 pm at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN.

Bob was a livestock Producer/Grain Farmer. Bob graduated from SIU-Carbondale with an AG Education degree and a Master‘s degree from the University of Illinois. He taught Ag in Bellflower, IL for 8 years. He then became a sales manager for a major Ag chemical company in central Illinois. Bob moved back to Wayne County in 1978 to pursue his passion in farming.

Bob was born in Geff on April 26, 1942 to John and Marie Kinney. He was a graduate from FCHS and was united in marriage to Loretta Hooper on Sept.16, 1961.

He is survived by sons Scott (Kristi) of Effingham, Matt (Lissa) of Fairfield, daughter J’ne (Cary)Templin of Frankfort, IL, daughters-in-law Sheila Kinney & Debbie Kinney of Fairfield, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Sue Green and brother Bart Kinney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Loretta, daughter Dena and sons John R (Bob) Kinney II and David Barton Kinney.

A family service was held Saturday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made payable to Geff Christian Church and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home, 106 NE 4th St. Fairfield, IL 62837.
