Alberta E. Wyckoff Webb, 95, of Shumway, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 29 at Shumway United Methodist Church in Shumway. Burial will be in Rentfro Cemetery in Shumway. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Alberta was born on November 13, 1924, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Gail and Sarah (Ullrich) Wyckoff. She married Wilbert W. Webb on July 2, 1949 in Louisville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2006. Alberta was better known as “Aunt Bert.” She was a wonderful seamstress, musician, and cook. Alberta was a faithful member and leader at Shumway United Methodist Church where she was the organist and pianist for over fifty years. She also held various positions at the church. Alberta was a member of Home Extension for over fifty years.
Alberta is survived by her brother, Gerald (Doris) Wyckoff of Effingham; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert; sisters, Thelma (Clyde) Harder and Mary (Kenneth) Hirtzel; brother, Norman (Hazel) Wyckoff; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Bessie Webb.
