Jerry L. Hopkins, 77 of Brownstown, died at 11:13 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
Jerry was born on Tuesday, June 9, 1942 in Brownstown to Barney and Thelma (Turner) Hopkins. He was US Army veteran. He was a retired machinist with NASA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
As per his wishes his body was cremated.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2 at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Military rites will be provided by Brownstown VFW Post #9170 and Vandalia American Legion Post #95. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting with arrangements.
