Annabelle H. Bales (74) of Effingham

Annabelle H. Bales, 74, passed away Wednesday evening, December 12, 2018 at her home in Effingham, surrounded by her family.

 

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with visitation being held from 5:30 p.m. to time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham or to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.bauerfh.com.

 

Annabelle was born April 30, 1944 in rural Altamont, the daughter of Edmund E. and Helen L. (Bahrns) Leppin. She married Edward J. “Ed” Bales on August 5, 1962. Annabelle worked at General Electric in Mattoon until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham and the Lydia Guild. 

 

Annabelle is survived by her husband Ed Bales of Effingham; daughters, Lisa (Royce) Brooks of The Woodlands, TX and Amy (Jason) Niewinski of Taylorville; brother, Paul E. (Colleen) Leppin of Altamont; sister, Ruth M. (John) Holland of Mason; grandchildren, Kirsten A. (John) Althoff, Jacob, Jordan and Jackson Niewinski; Jason and Nic Brooks, great-grandchildren, Raegan and Logan Althoff, Gibson and Indigo Brooks.  Along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma and her husband, Bob Heth; sisters-in-law, Pat Lading, Jan Schultz and Melba Bales.
