Effingham Water Authority trustees voted this month to increase by 4% the pay for Water Authority employees.
The Board accepted a bid for a lot in Moccasin Inlet from Charles Koester. The bid was for $18,901. Also awarded were bids for road maintenance materials. Those accepted were a bid to stockpile gravel near the dam at Lake Sara from Heuerman Brothers Trucking, and a bid to furnish and spread asphalt and load, haul, spread and roll stone chips for Lake Sara roads to Larry Heuerman Trucking.
The Board heard from Kristen Allen regarding damage caused to her house by a tree. Board members said the Water Authority is not responsible for damage due to nature.
Tom Ryan of Lake Sara's Parks and Rec Committee updated the Board on the final paperwork for the State for the Lake Sara Beach project, and that he has been in contact with officials regarding the audit and requirements for the State.
