HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital had a blessing and unveiling of its renovated fourth floor Wednesday morning.

An inpatient care unit is located on the floor. St. Anthony's President and CEO Chad Markham said there are 16 private rooms with bathrooms. Markham said the floor will feature an updated decor and more functionality for nurses and other staff members.

St. Anthony's Chief Nursing Officer Bobbi Kinkelaar said some changes include nursing pods on each end of the floor rather than the central station will mean less steps for nurses. Kinkelaar said a waiting area adjacent to the elevators will make it easy for those arriving to the floor and those in the waiting area to spot each other.

The area will be used for adult medical and surgical patients. Kinkelaar hopes the floor will be ready for use in late August or early September.
