Stewardson-Strasburg Community Unit School District No. 5A had a budget amendment hearing and a regular meeting Wednesday.

In the regular meeting, the board approved Audit Engagement with Mose Yockey, Brown and Kull with a cost not to exceed $14,500. Approved second reading of PRESS 111 and first reading of PRESS 112.

Approved was facility usage for Legion baseball. Also approved the amended budget for FY23.

The bus barn bid was discussed and tabled until the next meeting. 

Deters did a summer cleaning and maintenance update and McCollum and Hill announced summer open gyms and camps are in full swing.

Action as a result of closed session were the hiring of Monica Tomblin as Loyalty Club Sponsor. Resignations were accepted from Doug Holland, the fifth-sixth grade basketball coach and Jeremy Kinkelaar, the junior varsity baseball coach.

The next regular board meeting will be Wednesday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the media center.
