Stolen ATV Observed By Deputy

The deputy identified the driver as a person suspected in the theft of the ATV.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the ATV. During the stop the deputy was unable to retrieve the VIN number of the ATV due to paint being placed over it but was able to observe specific identifying features matching the stolen ATV.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
The ATV was towed to the sheriff’s office at which point deputies were able to confirm by the VIN number that the ATV was indeed stolen.
As a result of the investigation Adam K. Fancher, 40, of Farina was arrested for Theft of more than $500.
Fancher is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail awaiting the setting of bond.
