Two drivers were injured after colliding southeast of Effingham.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies say the crash occurred at 5:25pm Tuesday on Illinois Route 33 at 1700th Street.

Deputies report vehicles driven by 16-year-old Chloe Wells of Dieterich and 35-year-old Kimberly Repking of Effingham were both traveling northwest on the highway. Repking was stopped waiting to turn off the highway and was rear-ended by the Wells vehicle.

Both Wells and Repking were injured and both were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Wells was cited by deputies for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
