Statewide, the average temperature during December was 35.2 degrees, 10.4 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 2.67 inches, 0.89 inches above normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1% very short, 11% short, 65% adequate, and 23% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2% very short, 15% short, 70% adequate, and 13% surplus.

Winter wheat condition statewide was 3% very poor, 3% poor, 25% fair, 53% good, and 16% excellent.
