Altamont Council Votes to Seek Water Grant Funds

Altamont city council members Monday voted to seek $1.5 million in grant funds for water main replacement work.
The Council agreed to contribute $184,254 in matching funds to increase the likelihood of receiving the grant. The work would run along or near Main Street in various locations.
The grant request is due by January 19.
Council members also voted to pay just under $103,000 to Kieffer Brothers Construction of Mt. Carmel for sanitary sewer replacement in the northwest part of Altamont.
