(JOSH DOUTHIT {left} AND DAVID CAMPBELL {second left} WERE ELECTED CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE EFFINGHAM COUNTY BOARD MONDAY FOR TWO-YEAR TERMS)

The next edition of the Effingham County Board will be led by a newcomer and a veteran.

At Monday's reorganizational meeting of the Board, newcomer Josh Douthit was chosen chairman, while Dave Campbell was again chosen vice-chairman. Each was the only person nominated for their post, and each vote was unanimous.

News Director Greg Sapp spoke with Douthit following the meeting...

Douthit and Campbell will each serve a two-year term as chairman and vice-chairman.

County Clerk Michelle Kollmann swore in the nine board members to their terms and committee assignments and appointments were distributed.

The nine board members include:

District A--Norbert Soltwedel

District B--Joshua Douthit

District C--Jeremy Kyle

District D--Dave Campbell

District E--Christopher Keller

District F--Elizabeth Huston

District G--Doug McCain

District H--Sandra Gillet

District I--Jeremy Deters

Soltwedel, Campbell, McCain and Huston are the incumbent Board members.

The only other item of business was to authorize County Treasurer Deb Ruholl to transact business with county depositories.

The Board's first regular meeting will be on Monday, December 19.
