A big turnout was seen Saturday in downtown Effingham for the 2022 Hometown Christmas event.
The lighted Christmas parade was a hit and the big Christmas tree on the southeast corner of the square was lighted at exactly 5:30pm. It flashes yellow, blue, green and red.
There are a number of other Christmas decorations downtown, perfect for photo opportunities.
Here are a few...
There's a Christmas bear:

A gingerbread house...

And a cocoa mug...

This is a look west from the Courthouse on Jefferson Avenue...

Oh yes...the Christmas tree. This is the blue version...

We hope it will not be a blue Christmas for you, though.
A reminder that one good way to help others have a merry Christmas is our X-a-Thon and KJ-a-Thon coming up this Wednesday from 6am to 6pm at our studios at Fayette and Willow. Please bring non-perishable food items, toys, hygiene items, and clothing for kids 18 and younger. Cash will work just fine, too. Thanks to FISH and Catholic Charities for teaming up with us again this year for one of our favorite days of the year as we all help collect items for this year's Christmas Store.
