Stewardson-Strasburg school board members Wednesday gave their approval to the purchase of four steel galvanized light poles. The poles will be used as part of a future baseball field lighting project.
The Board approved a tentative tax levy for the new fiscal year; heard that a complete set of new drums for the band and drumline were purchased through the use of ESSER III funds; and heard from Superintendent Jeremy Deters that a sewage system extension project is still waiting on acquisition of the last few easements.
In personnel moves, the Stew-Stras board approved increasing hours for custodian Steve Blythe, approved hiring Mark Crowe as a fulltime route driver, approved hiring Courtney Wittenberg as junior high track coach and hiring Natalie Hayes as junior high assistant track coach.
Board members were updated on the success of a Veterans Day assembly and on the school district report cards.
