Road work is scheduled both in Effingham and outside the city.
The City of Effingham reports there will be intermittent closures on Outer Belt West, near the Effingham Performance Center, during the work day on Wednesday. The street will be closed to thru traffic, but the Effingham Performance Center will be accessible in at least one direction at all times.
Meanwhile, the Effingham County Highway Department will be performing pavement preservation treatments along these roadways:
--Wednesday from 8:30am to 1pm, south of Altamont along 300th Street from Mill Road (the frontage road) south four miles to 475th Avenue (Runge Corner)
--Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30am, on Old State Police Road (875th Road) from US Route 45 east for two miles to 1600th Street
--Thursday from 11am to 3pm, on Teutopolis Frontage Road, which will experience temporary closures from Willenborg Street, east to Teutopolis.
New pavement striping is scheduled for next week. For more information, contact the highway department at 217-342-6550.
