Baseball Card Connection of Effingham is in the Final Four of a competition to decide America's Best Card Shop.
The downtown business owned by Jon and Lisa Schafer is a finalist along with Honey Hole Collectibles in Escondido, California; Real Sports Cards in Champlin, Minnesota; and Cardvault in Foxborough, Massachusetts. There were 1,400 stores at the start of the competition.

The winning store will be announced at the National Baseball Card Convention. The convention is set for August 6 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The winner will receive $25,000 and a brand and logo for the store. A pro athlete will also visit the winning store.
Speaking of visiting the store, Lisa Schafer said they're already excited because eBay is headed to Baseball Card Connection on July 22 to do a commercial for the store.
As a capper to all of this activity, Baseball Card Connection is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The business has more than 10 million items in its inventory.
