Illinois State Police investigated a single-vehicle crash at the Keller Drive interchange at 2pm Friday.
The SUV involved was driven by 47-year-old Avery Hunter, Jr. of Riverdale. Police say Hunter was southbound and failed to slow for the rainy weather conditions. The vehicle skidded off the roadway and struck a concrete center median. The vehicle stopped across two lanes of southbound traffic.
Hunter was injured and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A passenger, 34-year-old Carolyn Johnson of Riverdale, was also injured and was also taken for treatment.
Hunter was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
