Beecher City school board members Monday accepted the resignation of junior/senior high school principal Brian Deadmond.

Deadmond was recently hired by the Charleston school district as a physical education teacher. He is in his third year in the Beecher City district as principal after leaving the athletic director and assistant principal's job at North Clay.

The Beecher City board also approved this year's graduation date as Saturday, May 14, with the ceremony to begin at 2pm.

In other personnel moves, the board accepted a resignation from Brittany Phillips as a certified staff member, and a letter of retirement from Pam Workman as grade school secretary after 30 years' service.

The Board rehired Karen Hanfland as grade school principal for the coming school year; employed John Brown as a certified staff member; and approved Kayla Wheeler as assistant high school girls softball coach.
