The three men charged in the death of Roger Courson of rural Edgewood in September are due back in court next week.
39-year-old Jamie Charlton of Salem, 30-year-old Walter West of Edgewood, and 27-year-old Christopher Gallatin of Centralia each face counts of murder and residential burglary in the death of the 80-year-old Courson at his home just across the Clay County line near Edgewood. The charges against each of the defendants allege that they committed the murder and residential burglary of the home, or they acted as accomplices.
A hearing is scheduled for the three defendants on December 29. A prosecution request that some of the forensic evidence gathered in the investigation be consumed to gain further information is the subject of the hearing.
Trial dates for the three have not been seet. Each of the three is being held in Clay County Jail in Louisville on $2.5 million bond.
