Niemerg Files Vaccination Measure

A pair of vaccination bills are getting attention at the state house, one filed by a local legislator.

St. Rep. Adam Niemerg of Teutopolis wants his Freedom Act bill to make it illegal to discriminate against someone based on vaccination status.

Niemerg said his bill would prevent a worker from being fired for not accepting a COVID vaccine.

Another bill recently introduced would require unvaccinated individuals pay out of pocket for any medical costs, however, unvaccinated COVID patients can't be denied medical coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
