The redistrict apportionment committee for Effingham County met Tuesday morning in an effort to get a plan in place for the coming 10 years.
The goal is to come up with equal population in each of the county's nine board districts. There are certain Federal guidelines that must be met, as well.
The Effingham County population according to the 2020 Census is 34,668. That comes to 3,852 people per district.
Here is the breakdown by district, and how close the districts will be to that 3,852 mark:
District A--112 less
District B--12 more
District C--46 less
District D--16 more
District E--83 more
District F--167 more
District G--108 less
District H--136 less
District I--124 more
The findings will be forwarded to the County Board's Legislative Committee, which meets Wednesday afternoon.
