A commercial project that will include a new home for Domino's Pizza can move ahead, now that the City Zoning Board of Appeals Tuesday granted a variance in parking space requirements for the development.
The variance gives the developer some latitude in the number of spaces required. As now proposed, the development will involve eight suites in two buildings where Paradise Inn Motel is now located at 1000 West Fayette. The motel will be torn down to make room for the development, which is now proposed to involve five retail and three restaurant operations. The variance also gives the developers some leeway on parking spaces should they decide to add a fourth restaurant and develop four retail facilities.
