Shooting in Brownstown Tuesday

Fayette County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting incident in Brownstown Tuesday.

Details are sketchy, but a man became involved in a standoff with authorities before reportedly shooting himself. The man, whose name is not available, was airlifted for treatment of his injuries.

The incident was in close proximity to Brownstown schools, so the district went on a "soft lockdown" status, which was later lifted. Superintendent Mike Shackelford said the schools were never involved in the incident.
