Unit 40 Releases Back-to-School Plan

In a release Tuesday afternoon, Effingham Unit 40 outlined its back-to-school plan for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

The plan states that kids will be required to wear face masks "in order to remain in the learning environment", and that disciplinary actions may be taken if kids refuse to wear them. The plan also states that masks will be required on buses.

Parents and visitors to district schools will also need to mask up, and according to the plan, will be asked to leave if they refuse.

The district noted that the plan will be flexible, and additional mitigation efforts may be added or modified.

Unit 40 also plans to implement COVID-19 testing at school for students with signed parental waivers. Additional details on the testing program are forthcoming.
