A rural Effingham County listener cautions that it's the time of year to be careful at rural intersections.

Corn is tall, and even weeds can grow to the point that they hamper visibility. The listener writes, "Please remember to travel slowly and stop at all intersections, even the unmarked intersections. Country crossroads are not all marked with stop signs. Everyone is busy, but taking 30 seconds to stop at an intersection can save a life of a friend, neighbor, family member, stranger, or YOURS!"

Pretty good advice for all of us!
