Effingham Unit 40 school board members awarded bids for insurance coverage during a special meeting Thursday evening.

The Board awarded property casualty insurance coverage for the coming fiscal year to AIG for $284,108, and awarded Worker's Compensation coverage to Zenith for $149,101.

Board members also met in closed session to discuss the Superintendent's search process. Current Superintendent Mark Doan is retiring at the end of the coming school year.
