Members of the Effingham Public Library Board reviewed efforts at this month's meeting to obtain information on creating a library district.
Library Director Amanda McKay said much of a survey that has been made available to the public is a "rerun of a 2019 survey." This survey, though, is seeking more specific information as to where survey respondents reside. The survey is available on the library's Facebook page and on the Library's website.
The deadline for responses is Friday, June 4, and the goal is to receive at least 1,000 responses.
The library board also discussed their annual fundraising campaign, with proceeds likely to go for technology needs. The campaign will be conducted this fall.
McKay said the May library board meeting will be the last one conducted remotely; the June meeting will be conducted in-person, assuming the state enters Phase 5 as scheduled on June 11.
