Teutopolis is taking a different approach to the old "dinner and a show" concept.

The Teutopolis Village Board Wednesday approved a drive-in movie night on June 4 on the Knights of Columbus grounds. The kicker is that Teutopolis residents will be able to drive their golf carts to the event.

Board members waived the typical hours of operation to allow the carts out at night. The Teutopolis for Tomorrow Parks and Recreation Committee plan to show the Disney movie, "Sing", and food trucks will be on hand to provide the eats.

The Board also formalized changes in the Village's golf cart ordinance, adding Race Street as a place to cross Main Street in a golf cart, and lowering the allowable age to drive cart in the village to 18, from age 21. There was discussion, but no action, on making TIF payments to Wooden Shoe Development Group in TIF 1 and to Farmweld in TIF II.

Board members awarded bids for road maintenance materials, agreed to make a final payment to Grunloh Building for work on the new village hall once a final walkthrough has been completed, released claims on two more residential lots being developed in Prairie View Estates, and approved a law enforcement mutual aid agreement for emergency situations.

The Board also heard from Courtney Yockey of the Effingham Regional Business Alliance and from Luke Eastin of South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission on their agencies.
