Cowden-Herrick school board members dealt with a variety of items at this month's meeting.

The Board hired Marc Bain as girls varsity basketball coach, succeeding Carolyn Wendte, who had earlier resigned the position after serving as the only CHBC girls coach. Bain is a former boys varsity coach at CHBC.

Board members also hired Kendall Fulk as high school assistant volleyball coach and Juliana Chalfant as junior high cheerleader sponsor. Other current coaches were rehired for the coming school year.

The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with the union regarding a part-time custodian and a guidance counselor position; accepted the resignation of Joann Davis as district treasurer; approved Allred's Floor Service to refinish two classrooms in the Herrick building; and approved the junior high ELA and junior high and high school Math pilot curriculum. Also approved was a quote from MBI for work on the high school entryway; a social worker intergovernmental agreement with the Beecher City school district; approved a 2.5% raise for Teresa Redman for each of the next three years; and employed Jordon VanDyke, Harleigh Bunch and Madonna Shellenbarger for summer help this year.
