A Jasper school district school bus and a truck collided Friday morning in Jasper County.
No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, which occurred at 7:18am on Illinois Route 130 at Jasper County Road 330 North.
State police report the school bus driven by 48-year-old Kathy Angle of Newton was traveling south on the highway attempting to turn right onto 330 North. The truck driven by 62-year-old Roger Heath of Olney was traveling directly behind the school bus.
As Angle attempted the right turn off the highway, the truck rear-ended the bus. Angle was airlifted from the scene to a regional hospital for treatment of what were termed serious injuries. Heath, the truck driver, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of what were termed non-life threatening injuries.
Heath was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
