State Representative Adam Niemerg of Dieterich is asking for a forensic audit of state spending.

Niemerg is asking the state's Auditor General to conduct the forensic audit of all State spending, hiring, procurement, and contracts awarded from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2020. He said he is asking for the audit "to ensure the State is conducting business in a financially responsible manner"...

The state's current bill backlog is estimated at $4.77 billion.
