The application deadline is approaching for the Effingham Noon Rotary Club Scholarship. The Effingham Noon Rotary Club once again will award two $1,000.00 scholarships: one to a college-bound senior graduating from Effingham High School, and one to a college-bound senior graduating from St. Anthony High School.

Applications for these scholarships may be obtained through the guidance counselors at each of the high schools. Applications must be submitted by mail to the Effingham Rotary Club Scholarship Committee, and received by 12:00 noon on April 9, 2021.

The Rotary Club's scholarship fund is maintained for the purpose of honoring and encouraging the scholastic achievements, extracurricular activities and civic accomplishments of the graduating classes of Effingham High School and St. Anthony High School. The recipients of this scholarship are also recognized on a perpetual plaque displayed at each high school.

Meanwhile, Effingham County Farm Bureau Foundation is offering five $1,000 scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year. These scholarships are available to Effingham County individuals who will be attending any college or university and majoring in an agriculture-related field.

In order to apply, a student or his or her parents must be members of the Effingham County Farm Bureau. In addition, students must complete the scholarship application online by March 31. Scholarship applications can be obtained at https://form.jotform.com/EffinghamCountyFarmBureau/scholarship-application. For questions regarding the application, please contact the office by calling (217) 342-2103 or emailing ecfbmgr@consolidated.net.

The Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarships are designed to recognize and reward Effingham County students, who are from Farm Bureau families, for their academic achievements, school accomplishments and volunteer activities. The Effingham County Farm Bureau Foundation through the donations of generous members is able to award these five $1,000 scholarships each year.

For the past 30 years, the Effingham County Farm Bureau Foundation has worked to promote the development and future of Effingham County agriculture through education, leadership training and charitable activities.
