After more than 50 years cutting hair in Effingham, Alan Harris has closed Harris Barber Shop.

Harris' shop downtown along Jefferson Avenue was marked by a simple note taped to the front door...

It's a sad day for many of us customers, but we wish Alan (and Sharon) the best. Thanks, Alan, for many laughs and heart-to-heart conversations through the years. Enjoy even more time in the Great Outdoors.
