Cumberland school board members learned that the district will have a virtual Homecoming coronation. The event will begin at 1:15pm this Friday. Also, Easter break will begin on April 2 and classes will resume on April 6.
The Cumberland board purchased a tractor for just over $16,000; approved abating the asbestos floor tile in three classrooms at the high school; approved parking lot and roadway maintenance; and approved the calendar for the coming school year.
Cumberland board members placed these teachers on tenure: Samara James, Coleman Sappington, April Webb, Tracy Wright, Tia Sawyer, Donna McClellan, Stephanie Nichols and Brandon Miller. 15 other non-tenure teachers were re-hired for next school year. Irrevocable letters of retirement following the 2024-2025 school year were accepted from Ellen Brown and Debbie Clark, and Wade Bradley was appointed the high school assistant softball coach.
