A Louisville man has been sentenced to probation and jail time after pleading guilty to burglary in Effingham County.

31-year-old Dylan Hampton was arrested in December on counts of home invasion and residential burglary. Hampton was charged with entering an apartment on Hendelmeyer Avenue. The homeowner confronted Hampton and sustained minor injuries in the confrontation. The resident fled the apartment to phone 911. Officers arrived and arrested Hampton, who was formally charged with aggravated battery and residential burglary. In court Wednesday, Hampton pled guilty to the battery count and received two years' probation and 180 days in Effingham County Jail. The other counts were dismissed.
