After bowing out of the French Open following the first round, skipping Wimbledon, and losing in the third round at the Tokyo Olympics, world second-ranked player Naomi Osaka was upset by Number 76 Jil Teichmann in the third round of the Western & Southern Open Thursday in Ohio.

Next up is the U.S. Open, which begins on August 30.
