St. Elmo/Brownstown was the lone area winner in boys high school basketball action Saturday.
SEB stepped out to an 18-12 opening quarter lead and tallied a 62-47 win over Tri-County.
Three players hit double digits for the Eagles. Collin Maxey hit seven of eight field goals, two of two from three-point range, and three of five from the line for 19 points. Brody Mason added 12 points and Adam Atwood 11. Lowell Wilhour and Cade Schaub scored nine points each.

At Marion
Effingham competed in the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Shootout Saturday and fell to host Marion, 69-39.
Marion ran out to a 25-11 opening quarter lead on the Hearts and led 43-21 at halftime.
EHS did not have a player hit double figures. The Hearts were led by Cannon Bockhorn with nine points and Rylan Pals with eight.
Marion connected on 10 three-pointers in the contest.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis played host to Tolono Unity and fell to the visitors, 60-52 Saturday.
The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 14-10 opening quarter lead as Joey Niebrugge connected on three baskets for six points and Garret Gaddis hit two three-pointers, also for six.
But Tolono Unity had a 12-7 second period to pull ahead 22-21 at halftime.
Both teams scored 15 points in the third quarter as Gaddis hit seven points for the Shoes.
But Tolono Unity came out to run off a 23-16 final period for the victory. Dalton O'Niell scored eight points while Unity hit eight of 12 from the free throw line.
T-town was led by Gaddis with 19 points on eight field goals that included three trifectas and J. Niebrugge with 17 points. Niebrugge led in rebounds with eight while Logan Lawson had five. Mitch Koester had four assists.
In the junior varsity game, Teutopolis was a 63-49 winner. T-town was led by Alex Kremer with 13 points and Gavis Addis with 10.

At Breese
Newton traveled to Breese and ran into a buzzsaw, going down to Breese Central, 64-35 Saturday.
Central opened up an 18-5 first quarter lead but Newton came back with a 15-7 second quarter to trail 25-20 at halftime.
Breese Central then had a 39-15 second half. Central connected on eight three-pointers led by Schrage with five.
Caden Nichols led the way for the Eagles with 10 points on two three-pointers and four of four at the line.
That was the first loss for Newton, which dropped to 4-1 on the season. The Eagles are back in action Tuesday hosting Altamont.
