The Cubs and Pirates battled Thursday evening, but Pittsburgh emerged with the 5-4 win.

It was a second straight shaky outing for Cubs' starter Justin Steele, who gave up five runs including two home runs in 5-2/3 innings.

A hopeful sign for the Cubs was a home run by Ian Happ, who has been slumping.
