James L. "Lee" Larimer, 76 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A private family ceremony will celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Effingham County Humane Society. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.
Lee went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2021. He was born April 21, 1944, the son of William and Madonna (Blaker) Larimer.
Many will remember his smiling face at his retail stores, Eldorado Mens Wear, Janlee's and Chessmans. He loved to work in his yard and won the beautification award several times. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jan; daughters, Sherrie (Jon) Stremming of Effingham and Angela Larimer of Chicago; grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher Lazar of Chicago and Jared Stremming of Edwardsville; sisters, Ruby (Tom) Stevenson of Effingham and Donna (Tony) Horrick of Dexter, MO; brother-in-law, Jimmie (Kathy) Cox of Ocala, FL and several nieces and nephews.
