Henrietta Wilhemina Ryan, 97, of Effingham, Illinois, and formerly of Dieterich, Illinois, left her mortal life and entered the Glorious Kingdom of our Lord on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Though a strong woman, she was unable to overcome the devastating effects of Covid-19.

A private family burial will be Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Per Henrietta's wishes there will be no service. Henrietta was born on April 17, 1923, in Bishop Township, to Frank and Mahala (Cole) Hartke. She married Leo F. Ryan on October 11, 1942, they were married for 68 years before his death on December 20, 2010.

Henrietta was a talented seamstress, crafting the most beautiful quilts by hand, she was famous with her family for her homemade pies.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She was a woman of quiet dignity and faith.

She is survived by daughters - Carole (Bob) Schottman of Franklin, Tennessee and Catherine (William) Arnold of Effingham, Illinois; Grandchildren - Stephen (Emily) Schottman Austin, Texas, Heather (Terry) Cook of McCrae Georgia, Angela Arnold (Brian) of Effingham, Illinois, Brianne (Jeremy) Holmes of Athens, Illinois; Great-grandchildren - Grace, Grant, Shayla and Sophie Cook, Leo and Ellie Schottman, Aurora and Layla Holmes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Georgann Lyons, Alice Fortenberry, brothers; Gordon Hartke, Jim Hartke, Frank Hartke Jr.
