Erna A. Niccum, 92, of Effingham, IL, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Erna was born on October 24, 1927, in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Genaust) Schmohe. She married Clarence Niccum on January 19, 1950 in Effingham, IL, and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1988.
Erna retired from the First National Bank of Effingham after 41 ½ years where she held many positions the longest being a bank teller. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham. Erna enjoyed ballroom dancing and doing puzzles. She was very well organized. Erna especially enjoyed her family.
Erna is survived by her nieces, Mary (Don, deceased) Zumwalt of Altamont and Ruth (Don) Rhodes of Effingham; nephew, Joe (Carol) Budde of Effingham; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; sister, Mabel Budde; and nephew, Dan Budde.
