Cumberland school board members have approved an amended budget for the just completed fiscal year.
The Board also retained Mose, Yockey, Brown and Kull as district auditors, and congratulated the school's trap shooting team on a first place finish in the spring competition.
Cumberland Superintendent Todd Butler said HVAC progress continues and that the track project has been completed. High school cafeteria ceiling tiles and lighting have been replaced. The football and track concession stand improvements have been completed. Butler said a new stand is needed, but that the improvements to the existing stand will hopefully be well received. He said the middle school gym ceiling has been cleaned and the high school soffits have been scraped and painted.
The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Eastern Illinois Education for Employment System and commercial property and casualty insurance coverage was renewed through Prairie state Insurance Cooperative.
Board members approved primary playground repairs through AR Mechanical Services, completing construction of sidewalks, pea gravel, shade structure with ground cover and equipment walkway borders at a cost of $66,405.08.
In personnel moves, the Cumberland board accepted the resignation of Lee Walk as middle school assistant boys track coach, accepted the resignation of Memphis Waggoner as high school assistant baseball coach, and approved Zoe Mitchell and Samantha Strohl as volunteers for middle school softball.
