Overturned Semi Causes Backup on Westbound I-70 Near Vandalia

A semi overturned on westbound I-70 this morning, causing a backup several miles long.

Illinois State Police were notified of the incident at 6:31am and were called to Milepost 78, near Hagarstown in Fayette County. Police say for an unknown reason, the driver lost control of the semi and it rolled over onto its side across the westbound lanes. Lanes were reopened by about 10am. 

The driver of the rig was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
