South Central Middle School Project Awarded

South Central school board members have awarded a construction project at their middle school building.

Johannes Construction was awarded the bid for all nine proposals, as well as two alternate bids for improving the current south restroom and north restroom remodels.

South Central Superintendent Kerry Herdes had said earlier that the project is expected to take four to five months to complete. The work will involve connecting the main building to the gym, as well as the restroom work.

The project will be funded by the sale of bonds. No property tax dollars will be used. Any local funds will come from revenue from the 1% sales tax in place in Marion County. COVID funds will also help pay for the work.
