2022 Great American Relay Passes Through Effingham

The 2022 edition of the Great American Relay passed through Effingham on Tuesday.

The event is a coast-to-coast running relay that began in Santa Monica, California and is destined for Ground Zero in New York City. This is the third year for the relay, which began on September 10 and is slated to reach the Big Apple on October 16.

The goal is to keep alive support for first responders and the military.

The Effingham Fire Department accompanied the runners that traveled through town, accompanying them as far as Catholic Charities.
