The final day of filing for the June 28 primary election in Effingham County resulted in a candidate for each of the nine county board seats, and a primary battle for one of those seats.
Incumbent board member David Campbell Monday filed for another term from District D. That was the one district without a candidate. Campbell is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the board.
The other filing for County Board Monday was that of Dale Wallace in District H. Wallace will square off against Sandra Gillet for the Republican nomination in the June 28th primary.
Campbell's filing means that four of the nine current board members are seeking re-election. Those besides Campbell seeking another term are Norbert Soltwedel in District A, Elizabeth Huston in District F, and Doug McCain in District G. Those not seeking another term are Jim Niemann, Rob Arnold, John Perry, Heather Mumma and Joe Thoele.
In addition to the four incumbents, the candidates are Joshua Douthit in District B, Jeremy Kyle in District C, Christopher Keller in District E, Gillet and Wallace in District H, and Jeremy D. Deters in District I.
There is just one candidate for each countywide election contest in Effingham County. Pam Braun filed Monday for another term as Supervisor of Assessments. She joins Paul Kuhns who is running for a full term as county sheriff, Michelle Kollman who is running for county clerk, and Deborah Ruholl who is running for county treasurer.
